His extensive hands-on experience in high-acuity environments has not only honed his clinical skills but also solidified his reputation as a trusted leader in emergency, trauma, and prehospital medicine.

Roger's commitment to excellence has been recognized multiple times throughout his career. He received the Guardian Angel Nurse Award from Doctors Hospital in 2008 and was named Nurse of the Year in the Emergency Department in 2011. These accolades reflect his profound compassion and clinical expertise, particularly in moments of crisis.

 He has also made significant contributions as a flight nurse, earning his Emergency Medical Technician and Paramedic State of Florida. Regularly participating in air rescue missions with Monroe County Fire Rescue (MCFR) Trauma Star Air Operations. During Rogers Years of Service to the community, in 2018, MCFR EMS Air Operations Program -Trauma Star became the busiest  Air Rescue Operations Program in the United States.  Air transports included patients with life-threatening traumatic injuries secondary to high-speed vehicle crashes, gun violence, boating accidents, heart attacks, strokes, and hospital-to-hospital Critical Care transfers to northern counties of critically ill patients that required specialty care not available at Monroe County hospitals. His exemplary service earned him the Flight Nurse of the Year Award in 2018 and the Phoenix Award seven times between 2018 and 2019.
